A Day in the Life

7 at A-Team. 18 at DTP. 25!! at Lion’s Den. A little more manageable here at Bounty Hunters, where there was a STRONG Happy Dino contingent this morning. 21 total, with 11 bootcampers and 10 runners. 0530: As the pax arrived, I shared the news to some who had not heard, about the passing of an F3 Knoxville pax, Taylor Phelps (Cardinal) during his VQ the day before. One of his planned exercises (that he didn’t get to) was the “Air Bike” (Freddy Mercury). [Read More]

When are we going to start disturbing the peace?

So, Day 1 at A-Team was a nice intimate pax of 4 for the bootcamp, 3 for some ruck/walking. Day 2 was no such luxury. About 17 or so converged on the subfreezing temperatures in the very center of the Peak City. YHC fought a slow defroster to arrive with about 5 minutes before go-time. Feeble old eyes couldn’t make out the shovel flag, but the pax took joy in pointing out the HUGE flag at the fire station. [Read More]

Shooting sparks and a deck of cards

23 and me. Oh wait. This isn’t a commercial for a DNA testing kit. This is a writeup for the workout that happened today. Take 2. 23 men joined YHC at Hells Bells to kick off GTFO week. It stand for Get The F**k Out. A challenge for the PAX at AO’s they don’t normally come to. We had a good mix of PAX who are HB regulars and some “visitors” who may not have been to Hells Bells or at least not a regular part of their workout journey. [Read More]

F3 Carpex 6th Annual CSAUP, The Odyssey

93 PAX and 2.0’s descended on Downtown Cary for the 6th annual CARPEX Odyssey. Special thanks to Bogo and Badlands for doing the heavy lifting on the Q for this event, and to PetSounds for crushing the SAG Q and post-race 2nd F. Also thanks to all of the SAG support volunteers, Site Q’s, shirt designers, and inspirational musical selections. On to the workout…Rooney kicked us off with an opening prayer and then handed it off to Badlands for the warmup at the home of BO. [Read More]

BRR Tribute

We held a planning meeting with Erkins, SSH and Squats. Never did come up with a suitable team name but split into 2 vans. Van1 ran the full soccer field track while Van2 did merkins, squats and LBCs. Flip flop for a total of 3 laps per van. StepUps, dips, pull ups, Derkins and jump squats were featured. Lastly we ran the staircase three times to help Ma Bell remember 9/11. [Read More]

Ryder-versary Volume 2

Is the sequel better than the original? Well I can’t judge that. Dante’s Peak is the 2nd place I ever posted, so it’s a traditional stop on the anniversary tour. True story - YHC was EH’d by CHiPs from South Wake. I posted at Tortoises first time, and didn’t tell him I was going. Just texted afterwards, and told him I was going to go to DP if I survived the first time. [Read More]

It's raining, let's go play

It’s raining, mid 50s, let’s go. Mosey to St Michael’s with stop at main Bond Park entrance for warm-up, including Hillbilly’s sister. We thought about doing the Hillbilly’s sisters, the other one goes down, we’ll do that next time. 🌧️ Mosey to the St Michael’s soccer field stairs. Down the stairs, back up, around the parking lot right, then left, back to stairs.R1: 10 merkins at bottom, hit every step up, 10 merkins at top, 20 right then left lunges at the right end of parking lot. 27 years and counting

Frustrating game for YHC to sort of watch last night. Flip and family were over for dinner and board games so the game was on mostly in the background but every time I looked up, something not good was happening. The 49ers were scoring… Elliot was gaining 0.1 yard… penalty after penalty. Then, after getting Cowboy Nation excited with the prospects of a major comeback, Mike McCarthy turns into Barry Switzer (or maybe he was all along) and Dak does his best Romo impressonation and we are now at 27 years since Michael, Emmitt and Troy last lifted the SB trophy. Gloomy Wolverine Means A Great Day

Several weeks ago Loom sent a DM asking if I’d like to return to my old stomping grounds at gloomy Wolverine and I happily obliged. Even better, our ShieldLock meets weekly at Wolverine so I know the landscape well. Hell, I even planned to recycle the Q workout from the Shieldlock last week. Pax started slowly rolling in: a few Travelling Circus acrobats (Clementine, PomPom, Overflow), the dynamic duo of Franklin/Badlands, the glorious return of Nature Boy (donning a full red sweatsuit with the bottoms tucked into his socks), Big Red wondering why there was another big red present, and several other HIMs for this great morning.
